About Us

Welcome to Still Point Osteopathy, Located in North Lakes just near Kallangur and Redcliffe. Our vision, when we decided to open the clinic, was to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment where our patients and practitioners could work towards the health and healing goals of each individual patient, using osteopathic medicine.

Osteopathy is a system of holistic manual medicine that is very much more involved than physiotherapy, massage, or chiropractic medicine. Osteopathy recognises the crucial link between the structure of the body and the way in which it operates. As manual medicine providers, our Osteopaths use a combination of orthopedic and osteopathic assessment to carry out diagnoses and treatment. Our techniques are gentle enough to be used on infants, the elderly, and chronic pain sufferers. We can speak to you about the individual concerns of each member of your family, from your newborn baby, to Grandma and Granddad. At Still Point Osteopathy, we work with patients of all ages and mobility levels achieve their individual goals.

The doctors at Still Point Osteopathy are highly trained medical professionals, keeping in touch with the most up-to-date theories and practices with health and healing. Our practitioners with work with you in identifying, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions in order to help the body return to, and maintain, a state of good health. Our practitioners will be able to advise you on various training and exercises, nutrition, general health, and even workplace ergonomic and postural assessment. Still Point Osteopathy practitioners can speak to you about sports injuries, workplace injuries, women’s health, including from pre-conception to pregnancy, and post-natal recovery, age-related concerns, and general health concerns.

So what can you expect from your first visit with us?

Firstly, before you arrive, you will need to bring with you any relevant paperwork or records from your GP, and any imaging such as MRI, CT scans, ultrasounds, or X-ray images and reports. You will need to wear clothing that is easy to move in, such as active wear, a T-shirt and shorts, or lose pants. Jeans are not recommended, as they are difficult to stretch in. In the case that you do arrive in inappropriate clothing, however, a clinic gown may be offered for you to wear, but please be advised that the time it take you to change will be within your designated appointment time. Please arrive in a clean state, as our practitioners will be working very closely with you. If you don’t have time to shower after work or the gym, there are downstairs shower facilities in the building.

You’ve either booked online or called us to make an appointment. If this is your first appointment, please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to fill out a new patient and consent form. These forms are important for us to give you the best advice and treatment possible, so please fill them out in as much detail as possible, including all medications and past and present injuries and surgeries. It is also imperative that you tell us if you are or may be pregnant.

Your Still Point Osteopathy practitioner will collect you from our comfortable waiting room, where you are welcome to enjoy refreshments and a range of reading materials. Once in the clinic room, you will be asked a range of questions regarding your health concerns and your desired goals. Our practitioners will then conduct a series of physical examinations on you, which may include hands-on stretching and testing. Your practitioner will then discuss what they feel is an appropriate treatment plan and course of action. Your feedback and input are very much encouraged and welcome throughout this process.
